 Baby number 4 is a BOY!!! Harley was born a few days before Christmas. He weighed 10lbs 3oz and 22 inches long! My biggest baby and another short birth. We arrived at the hospital about an hour before he was born. I am so grateful that this birth was also blessed and my doctor and nurses were amazing! My husband is my biggest support during labor and he really helped me through each painful contraction. I love him so much! Me and Harley are doing well and were able to come home before Christmas! We are so grateful! Christmas was a bit different this year with a brand new baby but we made it work! Lots of resting and thankfully all our Christmas prep paid off!  The kids love the new baby which made this holiday season even more special.  Before baby boy arrived we took some time to enjoy the Christmas season and went shopping with the kids, drove around looking for lights, made paper snowflakes, baked cookies, watched lots of Christmas movies, and finished up Christmas sh...

 Looking back over the pictures I took during the month of November not much happened this past month. I'm okay with that because sometimes a slow and boring month is a nice peaceful refreshing time especially since this next month is going to be quite hectic! The guys finished up harvest a few days before Thanksgiving. I'm so glad they were able to finish at a decently early time and thankful that all went safely and smoothly! The kids love every opportunity to ride with their daddy! Baby has not made its appearance yet! Looks like we will be having a December baby!!! We are so excited and now that I have made it to 37 weeks baby can come any time! Christmas is in full swing around our house. We have our real tree put up and decorated and this year I had Charles do most of the Christmas decorating in the living room. He really enjoyed it and he did a great job! The month of October went by really fast, at least it seemed that way for me! I am really grateful since that means baby time is getting close!  October is for harvest on the farm. When harvest season comes around I have to mentally prepare myself for the lonely season ahead. Long days and one day weekends can grow wearisome but it is only for a season and then I will get my husband back at normal times, yay!  As my husband has been in the field I have been taking things easy and trying out a few new things as well!  I've been busy sewing items for my booth at the local antique shop. My mom found a lot of old cutter quilts for me to cut up and reuse. I've made some beautiful tree skirts, stockings, and ornaments from the quilts. I am excited to drop those off on Sunday! I have also been busy with Christmas present prep. This year I am working on some self-care items to gift.  September for us normally means the start of Harvest season, warm days and cool nights, getting back into the groove of things after the end of Summer. I love the change in the weather in our area. The hot humid days are behind us and cool evenings are a nice relief. The different smells that Fall and harvest bring to the country along with the changing colors to the trees. Fall is one of my favorite seasons. This September started off different from the rest and has forced me to slow down by quite a bit. I had been feeling more contractions around the beginning/middle of September but kept putting them off since I have grown used to Braxton Hicks in all of my pregnancies. After this continued off and on for a week I decided it was time to call my doctors and make sure everything was fine, better safe than sorry. I expected them to say all looks good it's just your normal wear and tear but that was not the case. My cervix was funneling and my contractions were coming pretty regula...

 August always goes by super fast for our family.   We celebrated 3 birthdays in August (Mine, Clay's, and Alice's). We had a good time celebrating all three! Alice had a purple and horse theme party, she's been obsessed with purple lately haha!  We also had a great trip to Gatlinburg TN. We saw a bear at Cades Cove, played in the mountain streams, and ate some good food! Paula Deen's in Pigeon Forge and Mamas Chicken Kitchen were our favorites. We stayed at the cutest and cleanest motel in downtown Gatlinburg called Marshalls Creek, I highly recommend! Very reasonable prices and easy to walk to downtown Gatlinburg.  Back home, the garden has now been taken over by weeds :( but the produce is starting to dwindle anyways so I guess it's not too big of a deal. I finished with 41 quarts of canned green beans, 19 quarts of canned tomatoes, 5 quarts of canned pickles, lots of frozen green peppers and even more coming on, and the okra is coming on strong as well, whic...

                               July 2023 recap for our farm family July was a typical month for us meaning nothing overly exciting. Life around here is pretty chill during the Summer months. The kids enjoy playing outside and on the hot days, downstairs in the cool basement.  We had a fun time at our County Fair! The kids aren't in 4-H this year but we did enter some items into the open class building. The two older kids took pictures in and they both one 1st place ribbons! I enjoy trying out for a lot of the baking contests. I entered the cookie baking contest and the yeast bread contest. It's so fun to go in later to see if you have won any prizes! I also entered a few other open class projects. It's more for enjoyment than the actual competition. I would encourage anyone who enjoys the fair and a friendly competition to enter a few of the contests or open class projects! Get outside your comfort zone...
