Farm Series Part 9 [Teamwork]

The Winter blues. Everyone and everything around the farm was either grey, blue, or black. Winter wasn't so bad, it was the dreary days where the sun never peeked through and the days felt like a constant dusk. Weeks of constant grey was a damper on the spirits of all.

The days of constant field work were over and now just the cows and young calves remained as a large part of the farmers daily work load. He absolutely loved working with his cows. Checking in on them, feeding them, and eventually taking the steers to market. And all his hard work over the years was beginning to pay off.

Hope wasn't always totally on board with the cattle farm idea. To her it seemed to take up the little time Clay had after working in the fields. She also hated to see him stressed out about anything and one sure thing livestock do is stress out their caretakers. After a few years of trial and error Clay felt like he had finally found a more productive way to work on the grain farm and continue to grow their own herd and hay business [which was his main passion].

On the days when he was working in the fields for long hours Hope was able to lend a hand by feeding the bulls or simply by filling some water tanks. All things Hope found were easy to do and was glad to help. On the days where field work was slow or non-existent Clay was able to play catch up on all the bigger projects for their farm.

With a little teamwork and time they felt like they could make this dream a reality.
