Farm Series Part 10 [Spring Brings New Things]

 Spring had begun to peak around the corner. Getting outside to work in the fields was slow going as Spring in Indiana always brought lots of rain. Mud was knee high in most places and a nasty pain to deal with. But Spring tends to sprout new things in nature and in life.  The farmers were moving. The cozy farmhouse had been outgrown. They were excited about the change and a larger home. The perfect house became available at the most opportune time. It was a family home that was meant to stay in the family. It was situated on two acres sitting back from the road with woods to their back. Plenty of places for the kids to play and roam. As well as a cute little pasture that would be a perfect place for Hopes sheep.  The house was a little rough on the inside but nothing a little TLC couldn't fix. Farm Series Part 9 [Teamwork]

 The Winter blues. Everyone and everything around the farm was either grey, blue, or black. Winter wasn't so bad, it was the dreary days where the sun never peeked through and the days felt like a constant dusk. Weeks of constant grey was a damper on the spirits of all.  The days of constant field work were over and now just the cows and young calves remained as a large part of the farmers daily work load. He absolutely loved working with his cows. Checking in on them, feeding them, and eventually taking the steers to market. And all his hard work over the years was beginning to pay off. Hope wasn't always totally on board with the cattle farm idea. To her it seemed to take up the little time Clay had after working in the fields. She also hated to see him stressed out about anything and one sure thing livestock do is stress out their caretakers. After a few years of trial and error Clay felt like he had finally found a more productive way to work on the grain farm and continue...
